Configure settings for device name, output tray, priority tray, cover sheet tray, and slip sheet tray.

Note

  • Settings on this page can be changed by the following administrators and users:
    • Network Administrator (Device Name, Comment, and Location)
    • Machine Administrator (Items other than Device Name, Comment, and Location)
    • Login users (all items except Protect Printer Display Panel), if:
      User authentication is enabled on the device and users are permitted to make changes to administrator's setting items.
  • Some items may not appear depending on machine type or configuration.

General Settings

Device Name

Enter the device name, using up to 31 characters.

Note

Comment

Enter a note about the machine, using up to 31 characters.

Location

Enter the device location, using up to 32 characters.

Spool Printing

Specify whether Spool Printing is active or inactive.
This appears only when Spool Printing is supported by the machine.

Note

Protect Printer Display Panel

Specify whether to restrict access from the printer control panel, and if yes, select a protection level.
If protection is enabled, changing control panel items is not possible.
This appears only when printer function is supported by the machine.

Note

Interleave Priority

Select the priority job type for the machine.
For example, if there is a job submitted from the copier function using the machine's control panel and a job sent from a client computer, the client computer's job is printed first if Printer is selected for Interleave Priority.

Note

Display Mode

Gives priority to jobs submitted using the mode selected on the machine's control panel.

Switch Every Specified No. of Sheets

Gives priority to jobs submitted using the Interrupt function. The current print job is interrupted after the number of sheets specified on the machine's control panel are printed.

Job Order

No priority setting. Jobs are printed in the order they were submitted.

Copier/Document Server

Gives priority to jobs submitted using the copier function and jobs submitted from the machine's Document Server.

Fax

Gives priority to jobs submitted using the fax function.

Printer

Gives priority to jobs submitted using the printer function.

Function Reset Timer

Specify a time period to elapse before the machine switches to the function selected in Interleave Priority.

Set Time

Specify how long (3 to 30 seconds) the machine waits before it switches to the selected function.

Immediate

The machine switches to the selected function immediately.

Energy Saver Key to Change Mode

Select a machine mode when you press the "Energy Saver" key on the machine's control panel.

Low Power Mode

In this mode, the machine will return to the normal mode quicker than Sleep Mode, but the power consumption will be increased.

Sleep Mode

In this mode, the machine will return to the normal mode slower than Low Power Mode, but the power consumption will be reduced.

Stop Key to Suspend Print Job

Select how to stop a print job when you press the "Stop" key on the machine's control panel.

All Print Job

All print jobs are canceled temporarily. In the Job Management page on the machine's control panel, specify the job you want to cancel.

Only Job Being Operated

Only jobs that are being processed are canceled.

Display IP Address on Device Display Panel

Specify whether to display the device IP address on its control panel.

Media Slot Use

Specify whether or not to allow users to use the machine's media slot.

Note

Store to Memory Device

Specify whether or not to allow users to store the scanned data to a USB flash memory device or an SD card using the media slot.

Print from Memory Storage Device

Specify whether or not to allow users to print the data from a USB flash memory device or an SD card using the media slot.

Compatible ID

You can enable or disable the Compatible ID setting.

PDF File Type: PDF/A Fixed

Converts all PDF files generated in the machine to PDF/A files.

Note

Remote Power On

Specify whether or not to enable the Remote Power On function.
This function allows you to turn on the main power of the machine remotely by sending the Wake-on-LAN (WOL) packet.

Prohibit printing stored files from Web Image Monitor

Specify whether or not to allow users to print stored files from Web Image Monitor.

Note

Human Detection Sensor

Specify whether or not to enable the human detection sensor.
If Active is selected, the machine detects a user's presence nearby and exits power saving mode, so that the machine's control panel will be ready to use in a short time.

Energy Saving Recovery for Business Application

If only applications which run without the machine (printer/copier/scanner functions) are used, selecting On (Energy Saving) will reduce power consumption. In this mode, it will take time for the machine to return to the normal mode.

ADF Operation

Select an ADF operation mode you want to use.

Silent Mode

Reduces the operation sound by scanning originals slowly.

Productive Mode

Gives priority to the scanning speed.

Output Tray

To Top of the Page

Select the output tray for each function.

Note

Copier

Select the output tray you want to use for the copier function.

Fax

Select the output tray you want to use for the fax function.

Printer

Select the output tray you want to use for the printer function.

Document Server

Select the output tray you want to use for the Document Server function.

Paper Tray Priority

To Top of the Page

Select the priority tray for each function.
Paper Tray Priority is the tray selected immediately after the printer is turned on, and when Auto Select is chosen as the paper source in a job.

Copier

Select the priority tray you want to use for the copier function.

Fax

Select the priority tray you want to use for the fax function.

Printer

Select the priority tray you want to use for the printer function.

Front Cover Sheet Tray

Front Cover Sheet Tray is displayed only if the machine has a cover sheet function.

Tray to set

Specify whether or not to set the front cover sheet tray.
When setting the cover sheet tray, first select the paper tray you want to use for cover sheet.

Note

Apply Duplex

Specify whether or not to use the tray for duplex printing.
Even if On is selected, the tray may not be suitable for duplex printing, depending on the type and thickness of the paper that is loaded in it.

Note

Display Time

Select when the cover sheet tray should be shown in the copy function screen on the machine's control panel.

At Mode Selected

The cover sheet indication appears on the tray item when the cover sheet function is selected.

Full Time

The cover sheet tray indication always appears on the tray item.

Back Cover Sheet Tray

Back Cover Sheet Tray is displayed only if the machine has a cover sheet function, and Front Cover Sheet Tray is displayed on this page.

Specify whether or not to set the back cover sheet tray. When setting the back cover sheet tray, first select the paper tray you want to use for back cover sheet.

Slip Sheet Tray is displayed only if the machine has a slip sheet function.

Specify whether to set the slip sheet tray.
When setting the slip sheet tray, first select the paper tray you want to use for slip sheet.

Apply Duplex

Specify whether to use the tray for duplex printing.
Even if On is selected, the tray may not be suitable for duplex printing, depending on the type and thickness of the paper that is loaded in it.

Select when the slip sheet tray should be shown in the copy function screen on the machine's control panel.

The slip sheet indication appears on the tray item when the slip sheet function is selected.

Full Time

The slip sheet tray indication always appears on the tray item.

Designation Sheet 1 Tray to Designation Sheet n Tray

Designation Sheet Tray is displayed only if the machine has a designation sheet function.

Tray to set

Use the drop down menu to select which tray to set as the designation sheet n tray.

Note

Apply Duplex

Specify whether or not to use the tray for duplex printing.
Even if On is selected, the tray may not be suitable for duplex printing, depending on the type and thickness of the paper that is loaded in it.

Note

Display Time

Select the display timing for the specified designation sheet n tray using the control panel's copy screen.

At Mode Selected

Designation sheet 1 tray functions are displayed in paper tray items when selected.

Full Time

Designation sheet 1 paper tray items are always displayed in paper tray items.

Separation Sheet Tray

To Top of the Page

Separation Sheet Tray is displayed only if the machine has a separation sheet function.

Tray to set

Specify whether or not to set the separation sheet tray.
When setting the separation sheet tray, first select the paper tray you want to use for separation sheet.

Note

Display Time

Select the display timing for the specified separation sheet tray using the control panel's copy screen.

At Mode Selected

The separation sheet indication appears on the tray item when the separation sheet function is selected.

Full Time

The separation sheet tray indication always appears on the tray item.
