Network Installation Help
Typically your wireless router will automatically assign an IP address (DHCP addressing) to all the devices on your local wireless network.
If you want to use your own IP address:
Create an IP address for your printer.
The format of your printer’s IP address should match the format of your router’s gateway address. The first three number segments of both addresses should be the same, only the last number should be unique. Refer to the documentation that came with your router, or contact the manufacturer of your router to find out your router’s gateway address.
Each device on your wireless network should have a unique IP address.
Your IP address should be within the range specified by your router. Refer to the documentation that came with your router, or contact the manufacturer of your router to find out the addressable range.
For example:
|
Router gateway address |
192.168.1.1 |
|
Device 1 IP address |
192.168.1.100 |
|
Device 2 IP address |
192.168.1.101 |
|
Your printer IP address |
192.168.1.102 |
In the IP Address field, enter the IP address you have created for your printer.
In the Subnet Mask field, enter 255.255.255.0 unless you have changed it from the default.
In the Gateway field, enter the gateway address of your wireless router.
Select Continue to store these values in the printer.
If you have reached the “Advanced Printer Setup” screen by mistake, click “Back” to return to the previous screen.
