The Jolimark LPR Utility is the network software which supported TCP/IP 
printing for Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Me, Windows 98, Windows 95 
and Window NT4.0.

1. System Requirements
=====================================

Computer
Computer that operates on the WindowsXP/2000/Me/98/95/NT4.0 and 
supports TCP/IP

Printers
Jolimark LP-C1220
Jolimark LP-C2024
Jolimark LP-C3037
Jolimark LP-C3037Pro

 (Note) Operations are not guaranteed for any other printers than the 
above.

2. Setting up printer
======================================

Set up an IP address for your printer.  For details, see the user manual.

 (Note) If you do not set up the IP address properly, serious trouble will 
occur on the network.
Talk over with your network administrator thoroughly before deciding 
address allocation.

 (Reference)  For a small-sized network connecting a computer and a 
printer, set up as follows:  (In compliant with RFC1918)

Computer
  IP Address: One of 192.168.0.1~254
  Sub-net Mask: 255.255.255.0
  Gateway: 0.0.0.0 (Not used)
  DNS: Not used

Printer
  IP Address: One of 192.168.0.1~254
              (Different from the one for your computer)
  Sub-net Mask: 255.255.255.0
  Gateway: 0.0.0.0 (Not used)

3. Setting up Windows
====================================

 (Note) 
 - If you set up the TCP/IP Properties improperly, serious trouble will 
occur on the network.  Talk over thoroughly with the network administrator 
before deciding address allocation.
 - Accessing the WindowsXP/2000/NT4.0 will require an administrator 
privilege.

3.1 Setting up WindowsMe/98/95
------------------------------------
(1) Select [Start] - [Settings] - [Control Panel].
(2) Double-click [Network]. If [Network] is not displayed, click [view all 
    Control Panel options].
    Proceed to (6) if [TCP/IP -> ***](***: adapter name) is displayed at 
    [The following network components are installed].
(3) Click [Add].
(4) Select [Protocol] and click [Add].
(5) Select [Microsoft] and then [TCP/IP], and click [OK].
(6) Select [TCP/IP -> ***] and click [Properties].
(7) Set up [IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway and DNS].
(8) Re-boot Windows.

3.2 Setting up Windows2000
------------------------------------
(1) Select [Start] - [Settings] - [Network and Dial-up Connections].
(2) Double-click [Local Area Connection] and click [Properties].
(3) Select [Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)] and click [Properties].
(4) Enter [IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS Server], then 
    click [OK].
(5) Close [Local Area Connection].

3.3 Setting up WindowsNT4.0
------------------------------------
(1) Select [Start] - [Settings] - [Control Panel].
(2) Double-click [Network] and open the [Protocols] tab.
    Proceed to (5) if [TCP/IP Protocol] is displayed at [Network 
    Protocols].
(3) Click [Add].
(4) Select [TCP/IP Protocol] and click [OK].
(5) Select [TCP/IP Protocol] and click [Properties].
(6) Set up [IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, and DNS].
(7) Re-boot Windows.

3.4 Setting up WindowsXP
------------------------------------
(1) Select [Start] - [Control Panel].
(2) Click [Network and Internet Connections] and click [Network 
    Connections].
(3) Double-click [Local Area Connection] and click [Properties].
(4) Select [Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)] and click [Properties].
(5) Enter [IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS Server], then 
    click [OK].
(6) Close [Local Area Connection].

4. Setting up Jolimark LPR Utility
========================================
(Note) WindowsXP/2000/NT4.0 requires administrator privilege.

(1) Set up the printer driver by designating the output destination to 
    [Local Printer (LPT1:)].
    For how to set up the printer driver, see the printer user manual.
(2) Double-click [SETUP.EXE].
(3) Click [Next] when the [Welcome] screen is displayed.
(4) Verify [Destination Folder] and [Spool Folder] and click [Next].
(5) Check [Register in Startup] if you want automatic startup as Windows 
    boots up.  Check [Launch as minimized] if you want to startup in the 
    Icon state and click [Next].
(6) Verify the program folder name and click [Next].
    Installation starts.
(7) When installation ends, the [Setup complete] screen is displayed; 
    Check [Yes, I want to launch Jolimark LPR Utility now] and click 
    [Finish].
    Check [Yes, I want to view the ReadMe File] if you want to read 
    [Readme].
    The Jolimark LPR utility starts.
(8) Select [Add Printer] on the [Remote Print] menu.
(9) Select at [Printer] the printer that has been added in (1).
(10) Enter an IP address at [IP Address] and click [OK].
     A printer is added to the main window.

Setup has been now completed.
  While the Jolimark LPR utility is running, print from any Windows 
  application.
  For how to use the Jolimark LPR utility, refer to the On-line help.

5. Deleting Jolimark LPR Utility
================================
(1) End Jolimark LPR Utility.
(2) Select [Start] - [Program] - [Jolimark] - [Jolimark LPR Utility] - 
    [Uninstall Jolimark LPR Utility] ([Start] - [All Programs] - 
    [Jolimark] - [Jolimark LPR Utility] - [Uninstall Jolimark LPR Utility] 
    on WindowsXP).
(3) Click [Yes] when the [Confirm File Deletion] dialog is displayed.
    Deletion of the Jolimark LPR utility starts.
(4) When deletion has finished, the [Uninstall Complete] screen is 
    displayed.  Click [OK].

(Note) If a file that has been added after installation exists in the 
folder to install the Jolimark LPR utility or the folder to spool, you 
cannot delete the folder. Delete any unwanted files before running 
[Uninstall Jolimark LPR Utility].

6. Other cautionary notes
==============================

(1) Set the Spool directory on the hard disk drive which has ample free 
space.  If the free space on the hard disk drive is low, data spool will 
fail disallowing printing if the size of data printing is too large or the 
number of jobs is too high.

(2) The Jolimark LPR utility allows registration of up to 30 printers. 

(3) The contents of [Printer Status] on the [Remote Print] menu vary among 
the printers.

(4) Do not change the Spool settings at the Detail tab under the Printer 
Driver Properties from [Disable bi-directional support for this printer]. 
If you change, error will sometimes occur at the time of printing.

(5) After you upgrade your computer from WindowsMe/98/95 to 
WindowsXP/2000/NT4.0, Jolimark LPR utility will not operate correctly. It 
is necessary to re-set up of Jolimark LPR utility after you upgrade.
